Nicholas C. Vesha, JD
Nicholas was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and earned a degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University. He continued his education at the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, in Washington, D.C. With tens of thousands of lawyers, Washington provided the perfect environment for learning the art of litigation. Nicholas remained in the Nation’s Capital after law school to complete a two-year judicial clerkship in the D.C. Superior Court with the Honorable Jerry Stewart Byrd.
When it was time to start a family, he and his wife moved back home to Ohio, where he practiced as a family and small business lawyer for the Thomas Law Group. In March 2012, Nicholas established his own practice in the historic district of Dublin, Ohio.
When not in his office, Nicholas is at home spending time with his wife, four young daughters (yes…four), and two energetic rescue dogs. He has a vague recollection of once having personal interests and hobbies, such as reading and photography, but much like his hairline, those memories are receding fast.
James C. Lewis, JD
Of Counsel
He spent over three decades working on various matters relating to finance. He worked for both large and small banking companies. Mr. Lewis has been involved with transactions in a variety of industries including Real Estate, Manufacturing, Retail, Professional Organizations, Restaurants and Non-Profit Organizations.
Jim focuses his practice on Small Business, Financings, Refinancings, Restructures, Litigation, Collections, Contracts, Creditors Rights and Private Equity. For over a third of a century Jim was an officer or attorney for various financial firms. Jim was the corporate secretary of a company that is registered with the SEC.
Jim has lectured on Legal and Financial topics at Ohio University, Youngstown State University, and Hocking College.
Jim received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University, and he is a graduate of the College of William & Mary where he was a member of the Economics Honorary Society.
Tavis T. Daluz-Cates, JD
Associate Attorney
In May 2023, Tavis graduated Cum Laude from Capital University and received his JD. By November 2023, Tavis had received his Bar license after passing the Ohio Bar Exam.
While pursuing his studies, Tavis clerked with a legal non-profit that protects the rights of those with disabilities. Soon after graduating, he began working for a local law firm where he started his career as an attorney.
Tavis grew up in Hamden, Connecticut before moving to further his education at Ohio Wesleyan University. At OWU, he pursued concentrations in Black World Studies and Social Justice while volunteering at local youth organizations. After graduating with honors in 2020, he continued to seek out ways to serve his community through the pursuit of his law degree.
Outside the office, Tavis enjoys exploring the city with his fiancé, spending time in nature, and playing with their two cats.
Abigail M. Rogers
Practice Manager
Abigail was born and raised in rural Ohio and has settled into country living with a family of her own with her husband, eight year old son, and two perfect pups. Working for a law firm and having married a Franklin County deputy sheriff, they clearly have an affinity for the law in their household. Even her sweet eight-year-old little boy can’t wait to grow up and be an officer (probably more like his daddy as we are fairly certain he has no clue what it is we do here at VLF). Between work and Netflix, there’s not much free-time, but when she can get out, Abigail loves being outside with her family whether it be going for a quiet walk or something more adrenaline packed like four-wheeling or skiing.
Abigail studied Communication and Psychology at Wittenberg University and thrives on personal communication. She has been dedicated to Vesha Law Firm for nearly five years in which she describes as the most amazing experience. There is never a dull moment and the days are ever-changing here at VLF. Between the Attorneys and amazing Clients, Abigail has been afforded the opportunity to meet and work with incredible people. Walking with them through their major life events, good and bad, is not something she would trade for the world. Abigail has made it her priority to add a personal, pleasant touch to the Client experience and we hope that our Clients can feel how much VLF cares.
